Mars — the Red Planet, famous for Olympus Mons (the largest volcano in the solar system), ancient dry riverbeds hinting at a wetter past, and dust storms big enough to swallow the entire globe. NASA's Perseverance and Curiosity rovers are exploring its surface right now, and it's the top candidate for future human colonization.

Saturn — instantly recognizable for its dazzling ring system made of ice and rock debris, ranging from dust-sized grains to house-sized chunks. This gas giant has dozens of moons, including Titan, which has its own thick atmosphere and lakes of liquid methane on its surface.

Jupiter — the largest planet in the solar system, a gas giant so massive its gravity shapes the orbits of everything else nearby. Its Great Red Spot is a storm bigger than Earth that has raged for at least 350 years, and its moon Europa is suspected to hide a liquid-water ocean beneath an icy crust.
