The girl's mother stepped in, and when the father arrived moments later, he grabbed the elderly man and threw him to the ground in front of shocked onlookers. The uncle was hospitalised for a check-up and his stall closed for days, while his family lodged a police report and the father is now under investigation for assault. Yet the story has taken a softer turn since: the elderly hawker says he doesn't want to "cause any trouble" and wishes to let the father off, and the father has reportedly brought his daughter back to the coffee shop to encourage the uncle to keep interacting with young kids.
