No — that much concentrated wealth is a problem — At a certain scale, critics argue, personal fortunes convert directly into political power, letting a small number of people shape elections, media, and policy in ways no single voter ever could.

Yes — it’s a legitimate reward for value created — Defenders argue extreme wealth is usually the byproduct of building something at massive scale — a company, a technology, a market — and that redistributing it by force punishes the risk-taking that creates jobs and innovation in the first place.

It’s fine, but it needs better guardrails — A middle position: extreme wealth itself isn’t the problem, but unlimited political donations and lobbying from ultra-wealthy individuals and corporations are — so the fix is campaign finance reform, not eliminating fortunes.
